Look at it this way.. they are NOT pulling the engine completely because they MAY run into a problem with the wiring. Well wouldn't you like to know if there was a problem looming ahead? And what better time to head off any potential problems than when the engine is out COMPLETELY where you can inspect the engine and bay. I wouldn't jump the gun if I were you. Check around with local Zer's as there may be someone in your area that could tackle the job the right way, and they may be a DIY'r working at home or such. Just curious, did you ask the shop how much for a complete pull? I think 4100 is too rich for an experienced shop to charge for the type of job they've quoted. It seems to me your mind is made up and you just want to feel better about the choice and have us validate them for you.
